CheckPrint
T/A
Biometric Enhanced Time
and Attendance Authentication
CheckPrint T/A comes as a standalone unit comprised of a TFT Flat
Panel display, internal computer, keypad, and silicon fingerprint
reader. CheckPrint T/A automatically authenticates the employee,
totals hours, and calculates the correct pay rates. Sense has CheckPrint
T/A models to support any size employee base.
Sense Technologies Inc. Inc designs, develops, manufactures, and sells
the CheckPrint T/A security solution. Sense has developed
Time and Attendance, Access Control and security system software
applications. Sense Technologies Inc. has also developed a complete hardware
system solution based on Pentium PC processor backbone. Our products
work in a network environment and we can connect to any existing
network infrastructure or Sense can set the network up for you.
Data is transmitted through TCP/IP protocol and we can link unlimited
CheckPrint T/A units together in any environment or facility. Sense
also can remotely communicate with other CheckPrint T/A units using
a modem and transmitting over the standard telephone lines.
The CheckPrint T/A system is an unsupervised security and clock-in
station replacing your standard wall mounted time clock or swipe
system. An employee or another authorized user uses his or
her fingerprint to replace a password, PIN or swipe card.
At
the heart of the CheckPrint T/A hardware platform is the Fingerloc
sensor. Developed by Authentec, and easily the most robust,
durable and advanced sensor on the market today, the Fingerloc (TM)
sensor uses an active antenna array, which looks below the surface
layer of the skin producing an unaffected, undistorted image.
Unlike other technologies, such as optical or DC capacitive, skin
surface conditions such as calluses, dryness, dirt, moisture, or
the effects of aging do not limit the capture ability of the sensor.
Contaminants such as ink, paint, or glue have little or no effect
because the technology reads below the surface capturing the user's
LIVE fingerprint. The result…. A clearly superior image, which
gives the capability to work for everyone- in the real world.

Payroll
Accuracy
A
well-known industrialist once said that his most valuable assets
rode the elevator each day. Many business owners have heard this
analogy, and believe it as a fundamental truth. However, people
also represent a cost to an organization—a cost that grows, is sometimes
unmanageable, and very difficult to calculate.
In
the past, time and attendance and its resulting payroll can best
be compared to a necessary evil. It would be hard to find an owner
or employee that actually enjoys doing payroll especially when considering
all the benefit, investment and tax calculations. Because of these
and other intricacies, many business owners have turned over payroll
and its related business processes to the ADPs of the world--but
isn't that another cost as well?
One
of the biggest problems in controlling payroll costs is the number
of people that comprise it. Accurate payroll requires accurate time-clock
punches--without accurate time-clock punches, time and attendance
systems deliver inaccurate paychecks. A computerized biometric time
and attendance system virtually eliminates this problem.
CheckPrint
T/A from Sense Technologies Inc., Inc., Tamarac, Florida, is a Windows-based,
time and attendance system with employee authentication. CheckPrint
T/A uses advanced fingerprint verification (biometrics) of employees
rather than relying upon an arbitrary timecard punch. Biometrics
is the science of using a measurable physical characteristic or
personal trait to recognize or verify the claimed identity of a
person.
Sense Technologies Inc.. CheckPrint T/A products are biometric-based devices
that use the unique characteristics of the human finger. They provide
proof-positive, personal identification, while simultaneously creating
a secure audit trail of events. CheckPrint T/A eliminates the potential
for fraud, time-theft, or unauthorized access. It dispenses with
the need for PINs, cards, keys, or other assumptive forms of identification—creating
an environment that cannot be breached or bypassed.

Eliminate
Buddy Punching
Fingerprints are unique, so CheckPrint T/A eliminates the ability
to buddy punch—saving the company money in time theft and employee
abuse.
There
have been many computerized attempts to provide payroll accuracy.
Badges and data terminals do a very good job to minimize manual
data entry errors. However, one flaw of badge and password systems
is buddy punching. You cannot be sure that the person using the
badge or password actually owns it. In buddy punching, one employee
punches or signs in for another that is tardy or absent. Biometric
systems require the person to be present, because their body part
becomes the badge.
Eliminating
badges and/or cards with a biometric system saves the company the
issuance and replacement costs—the time it takes to issue original
and replacement cards. At more than $1 for each badge, and 20 minutes
to issue, the annual savings can be substantial.

Easy
to Install, Operate, & Manage
CheckPrint
T/A time and attendance provides employees with the easiest possible
method of punching in and out. There are no cards or badges to lose,
and there's no identification that an employee must remember to
bring to work—except themselves. Employee authentication occurs
in a few seconds, much quicker than searching for a time card, punching
it and replacing it.
Before
an employee can use CheckPrint T/A they must be registered so that
the reader can compare attempts to sign in and out with a master
record that authenticates the person. Registration takes less than
a minute, the time it takes for the system to record three images
of the fingerprint. Once accepted, there's no need to reregister
employees when transferred or expanding the system. Authentication
images are stored in a central database for easy retrieval and porting
to new and/or remote sites. This is an excellent time to introduce
the system to the employee and go over its operation, and any questions
the employee may have. Normally, employees welcome CheckPrint T/A
once they realize its benefits in terms of receiving an accurate
paycheck.

Be
in Compliance
CheckPrint
T/A software ensures that a business is in compliance with employment
laws—governing teenage workers, taxation, and its own overtime guidelines.
Workers are prevented from clocking in early—from a break and/or
daily--without a management override. CheckPrint T/A provides a
rules-based infrastructure that improves bottom lines by inhibiting
payroll surprises and abuse.

24-Hour
Access
CheckPrint
T/A gives regional managers, district managers, and other field
staff 24-hour access to a variety of online reports. Its exception-monitoring
and trend-analysis applications provide an accurate picture of labor
use and its costs.
